Last updated: January 15, 2025
This document explains what information Treeada collects when you use our website and services, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We aim to keep this short and readable — if anything is unclear, write to us.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to operate the platform and improve it over time.
- Account data: name, email address, password (hashed), country, and the role you select (Maestro or student).
- Profile data: any information you choose to add to your public profile, such as bio, photo, and links.
- Usage data: pages visited, actions taken, device type, and approximate location derived from IP address.
- Payment data: handled by our payment processor. We never store full card numbers on our servers.
- Communications: messages you send to support and any feedback you submit.
2. How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account and deliver the services you request.
- To process payments and payouts to Maestros.
- To send transactional emails (account confirmations, payment receipts, important updates).
- To send marketing emails — only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To improve the product based on aggregate, de-identified analytics.
3. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the providers we need to run the service, and only the minimum required:
- Payment processors (e.g., Stripe) for charges and payouts.
- Email delivery providers for transactional and marketing email.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers (e.g., Vercel, AWS).
- Analytics providers, configured to respect Do Not Track and to anonymize IP addresses where possible.
- Authorities, if compelled by law and after evaluating the request.
4. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, export, and delete your personal data. You can also object to certain types of processing.
To exercise these rights, write to us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
5. Data retention
We keep account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure for legal, accounting, and fraud-prevention purposes. After that, we delete or anonymize it.
6. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure traffic. See the cookie policy for details and your choices.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat security as an ongoing practice.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we will post the new version here and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
